Gourmet black vanilla, from its botanical name Vanilla Planifolia, is the premium vanilla from Madagascar. Its moisture content varies between 33 to 37% and its vanillin level between 1.6 to 1.8.
The pods are fleshy, shiny and pulpy.
Dark brown to black in color, it has a strong aroma with chocolate notes.
It can come in two types: split or unsplit.
